Lighting is a great way to bring drama to any room. Lighting can increase interest by defining the ambiance of your special area. Often, designers use Up-lights for an inexpensive way to brighten the space. You can use small halogen fixtures that adjust or simply use can lighting for this effect.

Take a look at your lamp shades; they can sometimes look a bit worn. If your shades look like they need a change, consider new ones with colors that might accent your décor. You may want to enhance the look of your shades by simply attaching braids, tassels, or beaded fringes with your glue gun.

Now is the time to get creative. It is not necessary to purchase expensive shade for your lamps if you can think of some ideas. We have seen designers cover shades in the same wallpaper adorning the walls. If you are not the creative type, search the Internet for ideas, there are hundreds of sites that can help.
